5th Approxiversary Cast Desktop Yes, folks, The Heroes of C.R.A.S.H. has been on the web for approximately five years! I didn't date the first set of comics (The "Intro" comics all came online at the same time when the website went up), so I'm not sure of the precise date. I'm happy to say that I've gotten less stupid as a web designer and comic artist since then. Anyway, here's a huge cast picture to celebrate my comic's approxiversary. |

15th Approxiversary Phone Wallpapers (NEW!) 5 years was nothing to sneeze at, but 15 years of drawing my webcomic is something in which I take some pride! To commemorate the occasion, here's a trio of wallpapers for your phone, each featuring one of my comic's main heroes set against a backdrop of classic comic panels that showcase some of the strip's most memorable moments. Belt Boy - Titanium Maiden - Cannon |

80s Cyberspace B.O.N.N.I.E. WireCats won the 2022 Birthday Fanart Contest and requested a wallpaper inspired by 1980s Cyberspace scenery. To me, that sounded like B.O.N.N.I.E.'s kinda hangout! With this wallpaper, Belt Boy's faithful AI can grace your desktop or phone just like she does on Belt Boy's monitor... only with more retro flair and neon colors! Totally tubular! |
Arm Wrestling Championship and Taffy Pull The winner of my 2011 Birthday Fanart contest was 910CMX forumer and dinosaur fan Pippi Longstocking (Yes, like the fictitious character), who requested a desktop of a T-Rex-ified Dino-Mo losing an arm wrestling competition. Hee hee... get it? Cuz a tyrannosaurus has teeny-tiny arms? It's funny. Especially in picture form. Enjoy! And thanks again, Pipster! |

Belt Boy and Titanium Maiden at Sunset Originally a sketch I drew on a slow work day, I traced and modified the sketch on the computer to create an image that would become the 2010 Valentine's Day filler. Here, Belt Boy and Titanium Maiden share a quiet moment at the day's end, as the sky and clouds change into a beautiful spectrum of color, and the stars emerge. Even superheroes like to take a moment to appreciate the world's quiet beauty, now and again. |
Belt Boy Comin' Atcha The first in my series of "Comin' Atcha" desktops features Belt Boy practically leaping off your computer screen. What's he extending his fist toward? Is he merely showing off his moves? Or is he lunging forth to punch the Necrobot that's standing RIGHT BEHIND YOU?!?! Ha ha... made you look! |
Cannon Comin' Atcha Next up is Cannon! As he aims his arm cannon towards you, one of two things is probably going through your mind. Either "Man, that is one awesome pose he's pulling off right there," or "I seriously hope Belt Boy fixed that little 'hair-trigger' glitch." Just to be safe, I'd wouldn't look directly at your computer screen; move your chair a little to the side. |
Costume Party Ken Bailey won my 2023 Birthday Fan Art Contest, and asked for me to draw a rather humorous situation for my next desktop wallpaper: Titanium Maiden attending a costume party dressed as his character, EnergyGirl, and no one having an idea who she's supposed to be. Don't you just hate it when that happens? |

Daring Deco These three wallpaper sets each feature one of my three main heroes in a cool, artsy style, with gradient shading and no outlines. Behold the fruits of my artistic experimentation! Belt Boy - 800x600 - 1024x768 - 1280x1024 - 1600x1200 Cannon - 800x600 - 1024x768 - 1280x1024 - 1600x1200 Titanium Maiden - 800x600 - 1024x768 - 1280x1024 - 1600x1200 |

Dungeoneering Heroes Huh... it appears that our heroes are dabbling in a different genre. Are they playing a tabletop roleplaying game, or is the game playing with them...? This wallpaper became a reward for YouWillNeverKnow for winning the 2024 Birthday Fanart Contest; he requested my heroes play a little D&D. For the record, Belt Boy is a human artificer, Titanium Maiden is an orc monk, and Cannon is a halfling ranger. But who's holding the dice in the background...? |
Ever Get the Feeling You Were Being Watched? Tselsebar won the 2012 Birthday Fanart Contest, and as his prize, he requested for Cannon to go on a date with April "Rain" Harper - a character from his webcomic, The Wotch: Cheer! (Check out the links section!) - while several of Cannon's peers and all of Rain's siblings decided to spy on them. Notice that this wallpaper has a size that lets you set it as a centered picture on your desktop (I suppose you could "Stretch" or "Tile" it, too, if you were feeling whimsical). It's like having all the discomfort of a date with Cannon right on your screen! |
Evil Twins! A cool superhero earthworm (with an unfortunately obnoxious creator) once said that superheroes and evil twins go together like peanut butter and... evil peanut butter. Well, my heroes are no exception! MaroonDrops won my 2021 Birthday Fanart Contest, and she requested that I draw my heroes' evil twins! This scene (inspired by the Technodrome in the Ninja Turtles beat-em-up games!) shows our heroes about to encounter their devious doubles: the nefarious Belt Baron, the brutal Titanium Menace, and the not-so-creatively-named Evil Cannon (Cannon's sure he got the short end of the stick on evil twins). Will these characters show up in canonical story comics? Mmmmmmmaybe...! ;-) |
Game Night After winning the 2017 Birthday Fanart Contest, CD Rudd requested that I show my heroes doing whatever they do in their spare time. I decided that they do the same things my friends and I do when we get together: eat pizza and play video games! This picture of my heroes in their civvies (Not that Titanium Maiden ever wore a costume) is my first desktop to be drawn with phones/tablets in mind (I reccommend the latter; it's easier to see the full image, including the homage to CD Rudd's Sailor Sun comic in the picture frame...!). |
Girl Power I've had this desktop on the back burner for a while, but I've finally put it up this October, and I'd say the timing's pretty good. After all, October is breast cancer awareness month, during which time many women don pink ribbons and clothes, so what better desktop to make available than C.R.A.S.H.'s most powerful woman with a pink background? If you want to show support for breast cancer research, or if you're a powerful woman who wants to show it, or if you simply want a redheaded amazon on your desktop, this is the wallpaper for you. Enjoy! |
HiT Meets HoC The winner of my 2010 Birthday Fanart contest was none other than Thereisnosaurus, creator of the webcomic Hero in Training (Another webcomic in the 910CMX Webcomic community. Check out my Links page to see it!). It should come as no surprise that our worlds would clash... at least in desktop wallpaper form. Here, Cannon and Jack "Koops" Cooper are showing off their impressive firepower. (By the way, Koops is used with permission from Thereisnosaurus. Koops and Hero in Training are copyright of Thereisnosaurus.) |
Janine and Candice and Heroes Like many other Birthday Fanart contest winners before him, Matt Gregory wanted me to draw his webcomic's main characters alongside mine after he won in 2015 (but only decided on a prize in 2023!). Janine and Candice don't have much in common with my heroes, and I was given license to draw them together as I pleased, so I thought seeing them having trouble painting your desktop would make for an amusing scene. |
Model Behavior Ken Bailey won my 2018 Birthday Fanart contest. In addition to drawing comics featuring his own superheroine, EnergyGirl, Ken loves model trains, and he requested that I draw my characters playing with them. It seems that Belt Boy's gone a little overboard (or is that "off the tracks"?). This is my first desktop wallpaper to feature a character talking, by the way. |
Slap-Unhappy Enticia Shortly after her first appearance in the comic, Enticia met - and was nearly blasted by - Cannon. The next comic revealed she'd slapped him, but the actual slap was never shown. 2008 Birthday Fanart contest winner The Paper Waster requested that this be amended, and he used his prize to bring you this desktop. Thanks for the inspiration, dude! |
Superhero Selfie The long-overdue desktop requested by Switch after winning my 2014 Birthday Fan Art Contest. Here we see Belt Boy and a less-than-eager Cannon taking a selfie in front of the C.R.A.S.H. building - quite possibly a memento from their first day at C.R.A.S.H.. Look behind them and you may notice the sillouhettes of a few familiar classmates...! 800x600 - 1024x768 - 1280x1024 -1280x1024 (Full Screen Version) - 1600x1200 |
Superhero Superlatives After winning my 2019 Fan Art contest, MaroonDrops requested that I do a yearbook page for my heroes-in-training. It took a while, but here's the students of our main cast, turning an ordinary school picture day into a not-so-ordinary occasion. There's TWO versions of this one-size-fits-all wallpaper; one regular, and one signed by all our heroes (minus Jackknife, because let's face it - no one wants his signature!). |
Titanium Maiden Comin' Atcha Being the artsy type, I'm sure that Titanium Maiden really appreciates the use of outlines of varying thicknesses to create the illusion of depth. And I'm sure that you appreciate that TM's amazonian fist isn't really hurtling towards your easily smashable face. Especially since, from the looks of her right hand, she's ready to make it a "one-two punch". |
Young C.R.A.S.H. Teachers After winning my 2009 Birthday Fanart contest, Mousa Torre earned the reward of choosing the next desktop. He suggested younger versions of the teachers at C.R.A.S.H. - an idea that intrigued me. So, here are Battle-Axe Beatrix, Klawroc, Prof. Windbag, and the Shadowy Sentinel, as they appeared long ago... |
Zombie Heroes In October of 2012, the Heroes of C.R.A.S.H. broke out the monster make-up and gave themselves a spooky makeover for Halloween. You'd swear they were real zombies... at least, that's what Miss Sunflower thought! For the following Halloween season, I decided to commemorate their creeptastic costumes with this undead desktop. If you need a new wallpaper this Halloween - or if you just like superheroes and zombies - this is for you! |
